Sensor Positioning Best Practices

The purpose of this article is to provide some example floor plans where we have marked sensor and coverage areas. It is intended as a high-level guide to help you define the number of sensors that may be required to cover the floor plate you are considering.

General Rules on Sensor Placements

Small Meeting Rooms  Close to the AV Close to the door
Large Workpoint Areas Try and have sensors in a straight line on the ceiling so to appear aesthetically pleasing Closer to the windows
Booths These are generally small and therefore should be located close to the door. Please refer to this article here.
Glass walls
Columns  Be mindful of columns on the floor plan as they can block line of sight.
Acoustic Panels Please be mindful of Acoustic Panels that are on RCPs, sensors cannot be placed where these are
Workstations (Open Area)
Training Room (with divider)

Considerations

Our sensors have a viewing range of 1000 sqft or 95 sqm and they require line of sight to understand the movement of people in your office. If plants, walls, high partitions or other objects hanging from the ceiling like light fittings, signs, projectors impact the sensors ‘line of sight’ the sensor will not collect anonymous sighting coordinates and you will not obtain Analytic insights. You may like to consider the sensor position to maximise the analytic output.

For an accurate coverage and pricing proposal please provide a floor plan in .pdf or CAD with a scale attached
