Entry Sensor Installation Heights

Detailed Coverage Table (Single Sensor)

The Entry Sensor covers a rectangular area below it, with this area’s size being directly correlated to the height of installation. The tables below are used to check if the ceiling height above an entryway gives a large enough area of coverage.

Extended coverage via Multi-Sensor support

Measuring people flows and counting people across areas larger than one single sensor’s coverage area require a Multisensor. For entries beyond the coverage of a single sensor as per the above table, there is support for grouping multiple entry sensors together to cover larger areas and entries. As a composition of the images of an array of sensors, a Multisensor allows using the same counting elements on the large area as within a single sensor area.

The Multisensor uses overlapping coverage areas of two or more sensors to recognize which areas of one sensor is connected to the other sensor’s area. This allows continuous person counting  across the entire Multisensor area.  Multisensors must be connected over the local network - in a SenseLink implementation this means they must share the same Primary hub.
