How is Utilization calculated?

Definitions:

Utilization = The percentage ratio of Spaces Used over Total Spaces, where a space is considered used if it exceeds the Daily Active Threshold. The default daily threshold for Collaboration Spaces is 60 minutes, and 30 minutes for Workpoints.

There is also an Hourly Active Threshold used separately for hourly charts and metrics, where Collaboration Spaces is considered used after 10 minutes of use, and Workpoints is considered used after 5 minutes of use.

Capacity = How many people can/should fit in a space

Occupancy = How many people are in that space

Fullness = The ratio of occupancy to capacity

Utilisation Example (One Desk):

This shows the calculation for utilization and usage for one workpoint for one day

In the above example "Desk 1" is considered 100% utilized, as it' daily utilization is greater than the active threshold of 30 mins. If the daily utilization was 27 mins, the utilization would be 0% for Desk 1.

Utilisation Example (Whole Floor):

Capacity/ Occupancy/ Fullness Example:

For collaborative spaces occupancy and fullness are important metrics that can be used for comparison.
