How to install Flex Area Sensors

Please also have a laptop onhand. 

1. Record the Sensor serial ID and its location, as this will be required in the app.

The Sensor ID is found on the XY Sense sticker under the barcode.

2. Assemble USB Modem

Plug USB cord into USB Modem

Unclip the top bracket pulling upward. Place USB into top bracket and pull USB cord through the middle 

3. Screw the poles together, starting from the bottom

4. Assemble PoE injector in the base

Clip PoE injector onto base, with the power ports facing outwards

Connect CAT5 cable into the PoE port

Connect power cord to PoE injector and plug into wall socket.

5. Attach top bracket to the pole using the brass nut

Screw in the brass nut to attach top bracket to the pole

6. Attach cables to the sensor

Pull CAT5 cable through the middle of the top bracket

Attach USB and CAT5 cables to the sensor. Either LAN port can be used.

7. Connect sensor to top bracket

Twist to attach the sensor to the top bracket

8. Turn on power, check network connectivity and finalise 

Turn on power and wait 2 minutes for USB modem lights to check connectivity. If it has a green or blue light, it is ready to come online. 

Clip the top bracket on

Remove the red lens cap 

9. Proceed to steps to add an XY Area sensor to XY application

Add a sensor to XY app
